I decided to build my first computer for gaming because my current computer is a coughing old man. I just don't know what parts are good and what aren't and I do want to get it right the first time.

Computer: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7xHjQ7 (with 1TB and Optical Drive, and Windows 10, but Windows 8.1 for now)

I want ultra high settings, I use a Vizio 23 inch t.v. (I think it's 720p)

Games I play:

-Spintires

-BeamNG.drive

-Black ops 2

-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

- CounterStrike:GO

-Dirt 3

Thanks!

I made a couple of changes, and kept the price the same or a bit lower:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($166.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($63.00 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($97.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 290 4GB PCS+ Video Card ($229.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case ($44.00 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 620W 80+ Bronze...
MB - Nonoverclocking CPU paired with an overclocking MB. Changed to an H97 chipset.
MEM - Changed to modules with the same specs, but less cost.
CPU - The 4590 has a higher turbo speed and isn't that much more expensive. Either of these two processors would be fine.
GPU - Changed to the XFX for a better cooling setup and higher factory overclock.
SSD - The 250GB isn't that much more and you will be wanting that disk space before too long. 120GB is pretty small...
PSU - At that cost just go with XFX or Seasonic.
