[SOLVED] first custom pc build no signal on monitor

Built my first PC today with no problems until bootup attempt. All rgb and fans came on and stayed on but got no signal on monitor. Tried using the vga on the motherboad and the hdmi on the gpu through the monitor and didnt get a signal. Also tried using the gpu hdmi on a television and still got no signal. Tried troubleshooting for several hours, went through the whole thread listed below to try and fix it and still got no signal. Any help is much appreciated.

intel i5 9600k lga 1151
MSI rtx 2070 armored
ballistix 16gb ram 2x8gb sticks
cooler master 240mm rbg liquid cpu cooler
cooler master masterbox mb530p case
corsair 850W fully modular power supply
seagate baracuda 2tb hdd
WD 500gb ssd

The board might need a BIOS update to support that CPU. You'd need a supported CPU for that.
Another option would be returning the board and buying instead a Z390 one.
