Lately I've been thinking of trying to build my own desktop for gaming purposes. However I don't have the biggest budget. I've been looking around a bit and comparing and this is what I got so far:

Any comments and/or suggestions?

Thanks!

Yes looks good but if you are buying only a single hard drive you should go mechanical, the western digital caviar blue 1tb should provide enough space for a good while and that can be had for less than the ssd price

I currently have a 1tb external hard drive. Is it possible to use this one together with the ssd?

Alright, thanks. I updated the list:

Also, would this be everything I need to get a functioning desktop? As I said before this is the first time ever doing this so I have no idea if I'm missing something or not.

This is a good build, but you may not need an optical drive. You can save yourself around $20 if you choose to install your operating system off of a usb flash drive. Yes you do have all of the components needed to build your gaming PC. Good luck!
