Roughly $2000 budget, a little more is okay. I have nothing as it stands, a crappy laptop is all i've ever had for PC gaming, and I'm over it. 😛

Anyone with experience, tell me if I did okay when researching my parts?
Primary uses: Gaming, maybe a little streaming/light video editing.

Solution
Do not build new with old tech.
A better cpu will be a I5-7600K.
Most any Z270 motherboard will do.
Buy ram as a kit; disparate sticks may not be compatible.
a 2 x16gb kit will be better if you really want 32gb.

A single 500gb ssd will perform better, last longer, and be cheaper. Samsung 850 evo is excellent.

I would defer on the hard drive until you actually need the space.

140mm fans move more air and are quieter.
Install two as intakes in the front of your case. Only a single 120mm for exhaust and your case will stay clean.

Motherboard HD 7.1 sound is very good, no need for a discrete card unless you have very good speakers.
Try onboard first, you can always add a sound card later.

tips:
Buy a #2 magnetic tip Philips head...
Check out this sexy black themed build instead.
If you ask me, Xeons really aren't good for gaming, they are more for workstations and heavy rendering. And you're going with a quad core one anyway and since you're mainly going to be gaming, an i7 will be way better. And with that budget, you should've really gone for something better than a 1060, so this one has a 1080. Sorry you'll have to spend a bit more, I decided not go cheap on parts.
