Hi this is my first ever pc I am wanting to build, I want to use it for gaming. I was wondering if this pc build is good enough to play most games on, if all the parts will be compatible with each other and also if there is any alternative parts that could bring the cost down that you recommend.
My budget is £450 - £700 I would prefer to keep the cost lower though. Here are the parts I've picked so far...

-Intel Core i5 i5-4690K (CPU Quad Core 3.5GHz Processor, 6MB Cache): £175

-Sapphire Dual-X Radeon R9 270X OC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card: £133

-Corsair Builder Series CXM 600W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU: £59

-Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB): £54

-Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard: £49

-WD 1TB 3.5 inch Internal Hard Drive: £42

If anyone could suggest cases that are decent and fit everything in that would be great.
I really appreciate any help I can get, thanks!

*EDIT* yo guys I used PC part picker to make sure its compatible with each other and came up with this http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/NscwZL

its so expensive though is there any cheaper alternatives you would recommend?

Solution

EVGA is a reputable brand for PSU's, so you should be fine. Your build overall is great!

Do you plan to overclock? If so, I recommend getting a better cooler for just a little bit more so you can overclock better, or if you decide you don't want to, you can get the i5-4460 for around £30 less and a cheaper H97 motherboard. You could also get a cheaper Z97 motherboard, like the MSI Z97 PC MATE(http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97pcmate), which still supports overclocking for around £62.

Also, here is an alternative but with an AMD CPU for around £90-£100 less than your current build.

+1 to this build but I would personally change the power supply to a Seasonic 620W or XFX 650W power supply as the Corsair CX series of power supplies use poor capacitors.

Sick thank you, you've been a really great help :) one last question is will this build be able to run most games well?

The R9 270x is a pretty good card for the price, beating the GTX 750 ti. On 1080p, you should be able to run games on ultra or very high with playable frame-rates. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1itKnfYVwxA
