Just always looked here for quick answers and etc..figured now that I'm going to actually try to build a gaming pc from the ground up I'd start a thread of my own. Opinions/input very welcome.

USAGE Plan on using it for raiding in WoW. Using custom UI's while also recording them in fraps or streaming with xfire. WoW's really they only game I play, but I want to run it well.

Build I have so far

Currently out of stock but I heard that was a great Mobo.

PARTS NOT REQUIRED

Mouse, Monitor, Keyboard, OS, Speakers

Country of Origin: USA

Overclocking: No

SLI/Crossfire No

Monitor Resolution 1920x1080 For now.

I went with some of these based off of ratings from Newegg and from current rebates and etc. I prefer to keep this PC in the range of 700-900 dollars but I can vary from that a bit. As this is my first build fully solo, I'm not sure if all the parts (cable wise and etc) come with them and etc.

Any and all help/input will be taken. Thanks :)

Your RAM needs to be in two sticks, not three. Here:
http://www.newegg.com/emailpromo/?cm_sp=ShoppingGuide122710_email-_-ShoppingGuide122710-_-http%3a%2f%2fpromotions.newegg.com%2fhomepage%2fblackNov10%2fbnr_homeLinkList_email.png
then scroll down until you see the blue 8GB G.skill Ripjaws kit. 1333 CL 7, 79.99 after code. Be sure to become an e-blast subscriber so you can use the code.

You can do better on the PSU. Get a high quality Seasonic unit like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095

Or better yet get one of the finest made at a drastically reduced price, but the code expires NOW:

*Edit Proxy beat me while I was typing hehe, but was editing to say Well done for making the leap to homebuilding man :)
I'm surprised 18 people have looked in here and not offered any advice :S
I'm on my mobile so sorry for short response :p
if your set on that Mobo, change the ram kit to either 4 or 8GB, its a dual channel board and your current choice is a triple channel kit,
not familiar with the 550 but should be a good card imo,
and yes, your mobo will come with a couple of sata leads, caseleads (frontpanel) will be fitted to the panel and you fit to the mobo's front panel header, graphics cards usually come with the relevent molex>4/6/8pin power adapter (psu should have one but say your card needs two,or your adding a second card, you need the adapter to power it)
I'll check in later to see if any others have chipped in ok
Moto

You need better airflow in your case:

The right CPU cooler for the job:

Arctic Silver is old. We use Ceramic Paste now... easier to apply, no cure time, same or better temps:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835154003

550TI is a very poor performing card for the price.

6850 - Way better performance for just a bit more
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161348&cm_re=6850-_-14-161-348-_-Product

GTX 460 - Not as good as the 6850 but almost, and the same price as the 550ti
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127519

No o/c, and no dual vid cards = no need for that motherboard, no need for the 2500K, no need for that Arctic Silver, and no need for an after market cpu h/s.

So let's do this right. :)

Heres what I came up with so far, as I found a Hard drive at the house..I can mark that off.

I think I have everything compatible now..and decent prices. I'm sure this would run at what settings I want it to, with my graphical UI's and etc while recording it via Fraps or steaming it Via xfire as well.

Still looking at input though, ty all so much already.

*Current build is at 813.75 plus -60.00 for MIR's. I dont think thats to shabby :) *

560 > 460

Unless you plan on over clocking your RAM...just get that RAM I posted. The cpu comes with a heat sink with pre applied thermal paste so no need for the CM 212 and the thermal compound. And if that h/d you found is an EIDE...then forget it. Just grab what I posted up top....start out with a new h/d, etc...and build it. You managed to screw yourself on the vid card and for the same price I posted minus a h/d in your build. CL9 is fine for this build.

Right, the cooler was more for the 2500K, since it's an overclocking CPU.

However, the RAM you posted is more expensive than what I posted... but you have to be an e-blast subscriber to use the promo code. CL7 may not make an appreciable difference, but it does make some slight difference.

If ya want a wider response, suggest name the products .... most regulars don't need to go look at the product pages and we can answer much easier and quickly w/ just the names. Many seeing that they gotta do a clickfest thru 9 or 10 things will just move on.

Case - $10 extra IIRC gets you two extra fans and pert lights :)

PSU - get the 650 watter for the exact same price
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207010

MoBo- I'd stick w/ the Asus and it's 3 year warranty....Although I will us Asrock with a user on a tight budget, simply put, ya can't cut price without cutting the cost of ya components ..... better components = longer warranty.

GFX I'd find a way to move up to a 560 (900 Mhz) just $26 more for a huuuge performance boost

The Sythe Mugen 2 is $5 more and outperforms the 212 by 7C
