Hi all,

I recently bought components for a new gaming PC and received some help from this board by reading others' posts and asking a question myself. However, despite pcpartpicker.com estimating my power supply to be more than adequate for my wattage, upon opening the new ASUS motherboard manual it gave me a website for a calculator.

Here are my specs (I didn't include the optical drive in here... just a standard LG one):

So while pcpartpicker claims an estimated 421W, the video card alone claims it needs 600W so I am not trusting pcpartpicker. The ASUS website (http://support.asus.com/PowerSupply.aspx?SLanguage=en) estimates I will need 750 watts.

Of course, I've already opened the 650 W power supply and begun installing it. Am I in trouble?

Thanks for your help!

Acording to your total power consumption, even overclocked to heaven, you have enough room yet(I have the XFX750 model also using SEASONIC topologies), and your model is rock solid 650W real continuous power, a good power suppy made by SEASONIC.

Though I got a 4670k, what if I hold on the overclocking?

Can't believe this is happening!

Nah, even with overclocking he's ok. Remember that he's using a 212 Evo for cooling, so extreme Oc's are beyond his capability. I'd say a max possible would be 4.5ghz, and most likely 4.3-4.4. So add in the extra wattage draw from the video card and he's just fine. Also, I bet that PSU could draw 700w easy without an issue.
