Hello,
I am currently picking parts for my first gaming rig that I will proudly build myself (thanks to many linus videos hehe).

I am just looking for some feedback to my build, suggestions, modifications, etc..Seasoned builders please feel free to comment!

Build is as follows
Intel i7 4770k

Asus Maximus Hero 1150 socket

EVGA GTX 780

Corsair Vengeance pro 16gb (1866) also at really low latencey!

WD 1tb Caviar black

Corsair Neutron GTX 240GB SSD

Corsair 600t Special edition

Asus blu ray drive (not really relevant, but why not :p)

Windows 8

Corsair H100i (rad fans replaced with nactua)

Corsair AX1200 PSU

Alright, thats it. Does it look ok? I wanted quality without going too overkill. I do not plan on running more than one gpu.
I would like to OC in the future.

Does this seem like a good build, or would you suggest something different?
Also, I have a budget of around 2500$ I don't really want to go over that.

Sounds good, the platinum will handle 2 1080p screens well, I assume? And I didn't think the lightning would be coming out for a while?

Here you go.

I included two 1080p monitors into the build and switched you over to windows 7. But it came in right at $2500

I agree with this statement.

If you are only going for gaming, drop down your cpu and mobo. That will save you a couple hundred bucks. And then maybe you can get two bigger monitors.

0.o Thank you so much...I planned on pricematching to frys, but those deals are better than I found! And thanks for the monitors! I hadn't even factored those in! You're the man!

Thank you so much guys! Clearly you can both tell I'm a first timer to building. Hence the over priced items i've picked. I went with the i7 honestly because I think it could last longer in the long run (5-6 years) than the i5. Maybe I'm ignorant. I went with windows 8 only because I hear they're going to patch it's bugs, and it doesnt really make sense to go backwards? On the subject of Mobo's, I strongly looked at the z87 Plus. It's around 159$ or so?

Honestly I just want a decent rig that will last a long time and play all my games (mostly fps) on maxed out settings.

Thanks very much, sir. I do have an extended budget. So, i caaan afford it. Necessary? No, but with Sacara's price finds, it makes sense to go a little over the top and take advantage of a deal, would you not agree?

In addition, I may be able to find room for a better monitor. I want to also use this for my ps4 on pre order :D
Plainly, a good quality monitor that looks awesome for blu ray movies, games, and everyday use. I don't need a 4k or 2556x1440.
Just a couple of really solid monitors for the price.

Here is another build that has downgraded parts, but doesn't lose much performance at all. I left the 256GB SSD but you can change that to a Samsung 128GB 840 Series Pro SSD to save about $100 extra. The case you chose is almost $200. If you want to get the "mesh" version of that case (same case just with a mesh window on the side) it will save you about $90. I upgraded the monitors from the ones I previously listed, but they are $50 more expensive each, so if you kept the ones I originally listed, you can save an additional $100.

So if you downgrade even further with the parts I have listed you can drop the budget down to around the neighborhood of $2100. So its totally up to you.

Thank you very much Sacara. I think I like the first build you proposed. Finding those competitive prices for the quality was hard to resist. Also, thanks for that website, super helpful! :D
I dedicate my first build to you!
