Hello guys, Im building my first gaming rig and I have just finished selecting my components. I am hoping to order in the next couple days but still tossing up between a few options and would like some advice on what to choose and opinions on the parts I have selected so far.

Any suggestions on alternative parts, upgrades or downgrades would be great. Im going to be using this PC mainly for gaming and I will be attempting to overclock.

The build so far...

CPU: i5-4670K
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H80i or Corsair Hydro H100i or Zalman LQ320
MB: Asus Z87-PRO or Asus Maximus VI Formula
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 280X
RAM: Corsair Vengance Pro 1600
PSU: Corsair RM650 or Thermaltake EVO Blue 2.0 750W
SSD: Samsung 840 PRO 256GB or OCZ Vector 256GB
HDD: WD Green 1 TB or WD Black 1 TB
Case: Corsair Graphite 600T or NZXT Phantom 410

Is the Vengeance Pro series compatible with these Asus mainboards? It was not on the QVL.
I am unsure of what PSU wattage I should be aiming for. Is 650w to much?
Is any of this is not compatible and will it all fit together space wise? (GPU won't fit in the case for example)

All comments welcome.

Thanks in advance

Solution
The Thermaltake PSu is junk. Change to Antec, XFX, Corsair, Seasonic.

The liquid cooler will be loud and not cool better than an air cooler. I do not like any of them at all. I always recommend an air cooler like a Noctua NH-D14

Get the Samsung 840 pro

Either case is good.

Yes the RAM will be fine.

650w is perfect for this build.

I noticed the motherboards support higher speed memory but I chose 1600mhz because under the specs for the 4670k on intels website it says DDR3 1333/1600. I figured why go higher if the cpu doesn't support it. Am I missing something? I'm new to this so any help would be great!
BTW I was going to go with 8gb, would that be sufficient or should I upgrade to 16gb?

Hi,

650watts should be fine, but it depends if you want to upgrade in the future and want to go for crossfire. With the option for crossfire a 850watts psu should be better.

For ram 8gb would be good.

For the hdd the next one already is a good one "Seagate ST1000DM003".

For the ssd you could also look at the samsung 840 evo.

For a motherboard the next are already good ones for probably less money,
Asus Z87-A
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H
ASRock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming

8gb is more than enough for gaming and will be for a long time. 1600mhz RAM is standard and perfectly fine. No need for faster RAM.
