First gaming build

Solution
As i said in my previous post, good quality PSU is a must in system such as yours, since you are not on a tight budget.Good 650w(from the ones i suggested you) will allow you in the future go get even more power hungry GPU and not worry about upgrading the PSU.
About the RAM, the Patriot Viper 3 is good ram, there will be not much difference between the Patriot or Corsair in therms of performance if they are running at same speed of 1600Mhz
Hi,
I can see that you have selected pretty expensive and good parts, but my only concern is why going the cheap road with the PSU, since it is the most important part in the system. Get something from the brands like: Corsair (avoid CX units), XFX, SeaSonic or Antec in the range of 600-650w
Here are some suggestions for PSU:

I just picked the cheapest 550watt. I can see why it would be a better option to get a higher wattage though. I like the third one you suggested. Not that much more expensive either. One thing I'm not sure of is the semi modular what does this mean ?? Also do you think the 280x is a better option than the gtx770 ?

Thank you

It is not all about the wattage it is the quality of delivering the wattage. Corsair's CX units are budget units and use Capxcon capacitors, which are not that great, plus they heat fast and will wear out soon. Also CX 500 is not capable enough of powering the R9 280X, its 12v rails do not have enough amperes.
Semi Modular means that some cables comes pre attached and other can be plugged for specific use, meaning less cable mess.
R9 280X and GTX 770 are almost similar in performance, choose which one is cheaper.

Can you link me to the motherboard you have in mind.

So do you think if i upgrade to the better power supply. this would be a good build and all part will be easily compatible. As i also was looking at the patriot viper 3 black mamba ram but decided to just go with the corsair vengeance Just little unsure as this is the first time i have build my own rig. will be a fun journey.

thanks
