Im getting a new gaming pc and I was wondering if this is good specs ^^

Power supply: Cooler Master G750M, 750W PSU
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K
Motherboard: ASUS Z97-P Socket-1150
RAM: HyperX Fury DDR3 1600MHz 8GB
Graphic card: MSI GeForce GTX 970
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD
Storage: WD Desktop Blue 1TB
System: Win 8.1

Have I missed anything? Is it good?

Solution

Optical drive unless you are loading Win 8.1 without a disc and downloading all your games via Steam. Good news is they are dirt cheap.

Other than that it looks stellar - if budget isn't an issue just stick 16GB of RAM in there vs 8GB to sort of future proof/overkill. The price jump isn't that much.

Find an i5-4690K that is bundled with a comparable graphics card. He is right the i7 is hella expensive and not worth it if you are just gaming.

True, pretty much pointless but it wasn't listed and you asked if you missed anything haha so I just wanted to point that out. However for $40 more you get 16GB (Corsair Vengeance Pro) and much better latency speeds 9-9-9-24 vs 10-x-x-x.

Admirable
I want to point out, if you can, get Windows 8.1 without the disc, and skip the optical drive. An optical drive isn't expensive by any means, but I find that in this day and age they might not be useful anymore. Since I got my drive, I've used it exactly once, so if you can get a digital copy, I urge you to go that route.

Yes but if he is gaming and doesn't use Steam or another digital gaming service he will need an optical drive to install his games. Of course depends on the games he plays.

Yes, I will use it for some games, some games is cheaper on disc :s

Considering the i7 is $100 more than the i5, that has to be one Hell of a bundle. Where are you getting it?

What's your total budget for this thing? Do you need any other peripherals, like a monitor or keyboard?

If your budget is $1500, and you say you're $200 over that, I have to wonder what you're getting for $1700. If you mean you're looking at parts totalling $1500 and want to chop it down to $1300, you can easily do that as well. I've got a 290X in here, but it's pretty much the same price as a 970, so swap them out as you see fit. If you do have $1500 available and want to spend the whole wad, you can easily get a GTX 980.

These prices are assuming you're buying parts in the USA.
