Hi, I'm going to build my first custom rig, and I am looking for a mid-higher end gaming machine. I don't really know much, so I'm looking for some advice on component selection. I have a microcenter nearby, so I may be using that for a few components.

Budget: Around 1500

Monitor, mouse, and keyboard: Already have these

OS: Need a Windows 7 copy (I'm probably going to go Pro so I can use RDP and network backup)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg or Amazon

Location: Chicago

Parts Preferences: Intel, NVIDIA, High-end RAM

Overclocking: Probably not

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in the future

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

I'm thinking of getting the NVIDIA GTX 680 to future proof for a few years. I want the system to be able to last for several years.

Thank you!

Get the board/cpu/ram at microcenter so you can return them if your system doesn't post. Breadboard them before mounting in the case.
