I'm building this PC to be portable yet powerful. Any changes you would make?

I'm looking for the increased read\write speeds and reliability of the 850 evo, though.

I'm definitely overclocking the 4690k. Do you think getting the g1 version of the 970 is worth it, though?

not really I think the Msi card is better they use a good software and it will last you longer and it will be quieter as the fans stop until they reach a certain degree
or take a look at the asus strix gtx 970 but from then on it's your choice, I went with the palit jetstream gtx 970 as it has a similar fan design to the msi card and it has one of the highest clocks out of all the cards so it will get you more fps. It depends what do you want your card for? Gaming, Overclocking, Cooling

I'd like a card that can overclock decently while staying cool. While immature, I think the card looks hella badass and that's another selling point for me. I'm referring to the G1 of course.

The msi is the best card for the highest overclock with such a good cooler I would definitely recommend it, it is the most popular card and is recommended by pro gamers eg: fnatic if you know who they are 😀. Also if you want to spend a little les but get an amazing 970 take a look at this http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-palit-gtx-970-jetstream-7000mhz-gddr5-gpu-1152mhz-boost-1304mhz-1664-cores-1x-dvi-i-3x-mini-dp-1 which is also an amazing card I use it and its soooo good! But I would definitely recommend the msi gaming card for your use.

1080p all ultra with max anti-aliasing/anisotropic filtering. BF4.

What fps I get on the MSI?
