I'm building my first gaming PC and have about 1200 to spend. I have a general idea of what I'm building but just wanted to check with the pros to make sure everything's the best I can get for this price.

Approximate Purchase Date: sometime around December 27 (2013)

Budget Range: $1200 (the lower the better, but I'm okay with going a little over)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, schoolwork (lots of essays), watching movies, surfing the internet.

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg, ncix, amazon etc. no real preference

Location: Chandler, Arizona, U.S.

Parts Preferences: Intel, Corsair, Coolermaster

Overclocking: Maybe, but if i do not too insanely

SLI or Crossfire: Yes, as soon as i get enough cash I'll SLI (probably a couple months after build is complete)

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: I'll be using a 23.6 inch monitor but will upgrade to 3 in the future. I'd like to be able to game on these 3 monitors at medium to high settings (preferably high) with smooth frame rates (60+). I'm okay with using one monitor for more graphically intense games, but I'd like to be able to play Skyrim with several mods on 3 monitors. The quieter the PC the better, and red LED's if any.

Here's what I'm generally thinking of getting

well to each his own. '' Do you think I could reduce the price some while maintaing performance''
dont know? i got what was top name brand stuff that was not all that good and i got some good enugh stuff that worked way better then expected. for example i bought a sapphire card [7700]when i got here it look like it was a used card and when i used it it keeped reseting the bios. well chunked that got another sapphire [6800] it preformed poorly, but it worked all my games auto detected low. played kinda poorly so theres was like $300 wasted on sapphire thats allways been a top ati/amd vender, so i ran it untill i recooped that cash ,and this 7850/2gb card from powercolor was on sale at newegg so i got it and its nice i'm good with it. so...
well i look at it like this. look at the newest most demanding game thats out read the min. system requirments, and get above that. [if it says min. vid card is a 7770 and you can afford a 7950 go with that and so forth and so on ] i try to build above the newest game with the most demanding min specs with out going overkill. then you should be safe to play anything there or below that. good luck.

also i forgot sli means Sudden Loss of Income. i fell that todays cards will push a lot than what they use to. that came in back when you wanted to push large and or multi screens and at the time one card realy did not cut it . today look at what 1 hd7950 will do i use 1 7850 now on a 40'' and it anit hurting. my old 8800 card needed sli to run well on 40'' with just 1 card it was not so good but worked cards have got power nowadays.

I see your logic, and that's certainly what I had in mind while i was picking out the parts. 760 seemed pretty solid for it's price and 3+ gigs of Vram is what I hear you need for multi-monitor gaming. I'm pretty sure the card should see me through a couple years of games, and when my performance begins to drop the SLI comes in. Do you think I could reduce the price some while maintaing performance? I'm a newb to PC gaming and just went with well known brands and good reviews. the H60 cooler might be some overkill, but I might OC my card so I don't know. Thanks for any feedback
