Hey guys!
A good friend finally wants to get started on PC Gaming and has a Budget of 800 Euros.
We live in Germany and I'm thinking about those specs for him:
Seagate 1TB HDD (44 Euros)
Intel core i5 6500 (195 Euros)
G. Skill DDR4-2400 8GB RAM (34 Euros)
Asus H170-Pro Gaming (117 Euros)
beQuiet! System Power 8 500w (49 euros)
But I'm not sure about the graphics card..
I thought that a Sapphire RX 480 could be a solid choice but I'm not completely sure.
It costs 269Euros here, which is the same price as a Gigabyte GTX 970.
What do you guys think about those graphics cards? I watched some benchmarks but can't really determine a winner.
My concern with the 970 is that it only has 3.5GB of VRAM and my concern with the RX 480 is that there may be problems with the 6pin power connector...

Solution
I would get a 970 in the mean time if the cost is the same, or if you can wait one of the custom rx480s would be a very good option. Not keen on the reference design rx 480...
I would wait for the custom RX480's and also to see if they sort out the power overdraw on the PCI-E slot.

As to the 970 and 3.5GB of fast VRAM + 512MB of slower VRAM, it's a good card at 1080p. So if that is the target resolution then I'd say go for the 970. If 1440p is your target though, I'd go with something that has more VRAM.
