Looking to buy first PC,
Will be using for gaming (high graphics settings) games such as Flight simulator X and battlefield.
Will also be using as a workstation where I will be using photoshop and 3D modelling software

Have been given a quote of £750 for the following computer
I5 7500 3.8ghz
6gb GTX 1060
8gb ddr4 ram
2tb hard-drive
CiT GForce RGB
650W PU

Could I please get advice on where to get better value

Pairing a 1600 with a 1060 is a perfect match for a strong mid-tier machine. You should be able to obtain 60fps at max settings playing 1080p with any game that is reasonably optimized. Some games are optimized so poorly, that regardless of hardware, playing at a constant 60fps at max settings is near impossible. These games are typically outliers, ARK Survival Evolved comes to mind.

A 1060, 16gb or RAM, and a 1600 will meet the minimum requirements for every game released to date. It will probably meet the recommended requirements of 95% of games, maybe all games I cant remember if I have seen a 1070 as recommended on any titles yet.

That's a pretty good deal if it includes windows 10.
If you want better value and more reliable parts, the only real way to go is to build it yourself.

If you want to do any workstation type task, I would go with a Ryzen 1600. The 1600 games very well and it will be much better than the 7500 for workstation type use.

This build a little more than what you have as I added a Samsung 850 EVO and 16gb of RAM. The SSD will not make your games perform much better, but it will drastically speed up boot and load times. It will make your entire computer experience much better. I would also suggest going with 16gb of RAM if it is in your budget as 8gb is really the minimum these days.

I am not sure what PSU you had selected, but you need to make sure you get a quality PSU. Poor quality PSUs can damage your components and unfortunately there are a lot of bad PSUs on the market. I would look for a EVGA, Corsair, or Seasonic PSU.

1060 is "adequate" for Gaming at 1080p as is the rest of the system. As for 3D modeling, the demands are application specific, with some working better on the Quaddro workstation platform graphics. Budget is not adequate to do this on a production basis but as a hbbyost, you can get by with specific applications.

If I were you, I would indeed go for feelinfroggy's build and build it yourself. Don't forget to include a case though.
