I created a new pc today and when I first plugged it in a message came up saying ‘CPU Fan Error’ and to press F1. I’m not sure if I’ve fixed it now or not but whenever I turn on my pc it loads up into BIOS and if I turn it off and back on it will load back up into the BIOS. ANyone one know how to fix this?

~Thanks in advance!

Do you have a bootable hdd/sdd install? bios see the boot disk?
Check to make sure you plugged the CPU fan into the correct Header. If it's an Asus motherboard, they have two headers for the CPU- one is the primary, one is the secondary. Check the motherboard manual for the correct header location and make sure the fan is plugged in correctly. Also, if it's a low RPM fan (below 600 rpm) you may need to adjust the fan warning in the bios. The motherboard manual will tell you how to do this (again if it's an Asus motherboard, it will be the 'Q-Fan' settings)

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600
GPU: 1050ti
PSU: Antec EAG PRO 650W
RAM: 2x4GB DDR4 - 2400 UDIMM
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B350-F Gaming
Case: Fractal G Focus

Tell me if I’m missing anything

Yeah I’ve checked the fan and header are on correctly. In the BIOS it’s saying:
“FAN Profile: CPU FAN 2177 RPM CHA1 FAN 838 RPM
CHA2 N/A
CHA3 N/A
CPU OPT FAN N/A
AIO PUMP 1231 RPM”
not sure if I’m reading the right one though.

I’ve but got a 128GB Sandisc SSD from my old computer and a 1TB Hard Drive also formmy old computer. However, I haven’t gotten around to installing the SSD yet. Would This mean anything?

Make sure the CPU fan is on the right motherboard header. If it's not on the CPU_FAN header near the CPU then you will get this error. It is not supposed to be on SYS_FAN or case fan headers.

If your CPU fan is actually working then just disable the CPU fan warning in BIOS settings. Make sure your temps look OK in BIOS. You should see 40-50C.

Hard drives have nothing to do with this issue nor does Windows.

So even if I don’t have the SSD installed but have the Hard Disk installed Windows should load up normally?

The CPU fan error may be stopping the PC from booting properly. If you can see your hard drives in BIOS then you may be able to just manually select them and boot to them. Assuming Windows is installed on said HDD, it should be bootable. If you can't see them then there is an issue with the drive.

I'd disable the fan speed warning, save settings and reset the PC, and see if the OS loads. Again, make sure the CPU FAN is on the CPU_FAN header.

Yeah that’s whats happening but I’m assuming I fixed the CPU error message
