Good day everyone,

I am looking in the market now for a mechanical keyboard and there are good offerings here in my country. Two that I consider is the Corsair Strafe and Asus Strix Tactic Pro. I have my opinions about each and I would like to share my opinion on them, what I look for, and stuff.

I can describe what I like:
- sturdy keyboard that can last me like years. Okay, I have been using membrane keyboards since I started using a computer. I have not used or owned any mechanical keyboard before and the keyboards that i use are the cheap membrane keyboard just to have something to type on.
- I play some games that require pressing keys alot, macroes if i am not wrong. The strix tactic pro has dedicated macro buttons which gives it the advantage here. I heard you can also assign any key as macro on the corsair strafe, but for almost a year already I have installed some software that can assign macro buttons on my membrane keyboard too. Macro buttons might come handy someday, maybe not just for gaming. I don't know.
- I like red. I'm actually color blind, mild deutant. The strafe is red, the strix is orange but orange pretty sure looks red to me.
these are just the things that came into mind.

also, i haven't included the price range. I can afford the strafe.
The strafe is well known, people in the internet might choose strafe, as it is more popular and has more feedback and review. The Strix keyboard doesnt have much reviews, most of the reviews say it is expensive.

The strix keyboard is priced around $85 here in my place, its brand new and comes from reputable shop.
The Strafe keyboard is priced around $105 here in my country too, brand new and also from the same store that offers the $85 strix.

So, is the $85 strix a better choice than the $105 strafe?
The K70 is $115

Also, If anyone is using the strix, can you give me hints or ideas about it?

Solution
I'm not sure about the Strix, but the STRAFE is probably one of the best MKB's out in the current market. I own a STRAFE myself, along with a G910 Orion Spark and a K70, and I would pick the STRAFE over those 2 anyday. So as far as that goes, I would definitely recommend the STRAFE. But like I said as well, I have no idea about the Strix Keyboard (Never even heard of it 😛)

They both use cherry mx keys and LED lights (orange -strix, red - strafe). The stafe has better software I guess, simplistic design, and a good reputation, while the strix has over 20 macrokeys, multimedia buttons + volume wheel, and has a unique lay out. If you need the macros, the strix. If not, then the corsair strafe is a better choice IMO. Have you considered the razer blackwidow 2016??

I also have the same dilemma as you mate! 😀

I just read your reply right now. From what i can see, you commented on feb 21, if I am right. I bought the corsair strafe. I COULDN'T GO WRONG MATE. yep, i set any button to a macro. plus I like the matte finish of the corsair strafe.

I have been using the corsair strafe since Feb 21, 2016 and I feel like it will be durable that i can treat it very badly for the next 10 years. but I won't actually do that, I love this keyboard.

The lighting became boring after a week, i just set all keys to light up. Light show isn't worth it unless you want to amuse your friends. But there is a good thing about the lighting profiles, you can set a profile for each game and that profile will automatically trigger when you open a game. Even when you alt tab to chrome, the profile will resume to default and will go back to the game profile once you go back to that certain game.
