First PC Build $2500 Budget

There are some good choices. Be careful it might be smarter to get a larger capacity ssd rather than a 2tb WD black. And did you check the other choices available for the gtx 980 ti some may offer more for the same price like givabyte or zotac. Finally, maybe you can get your ram in 4*4gb to benefit from quad channel, that is if your not planning to later upgrade.

Ever so slightly over budget but this includes a MONSTER monitor:

Thanks man I do try 😛 I guess you have to decide between the 2 builds I posted.

The other build is the AMD GPU equivalent with the Freesync version of this monitor too. I'll leave it to you as per which one takes your fancy, either way they'll be awesome 😀

The PSU does come with black sleeved cables which IMO will suit this fine.

That's correct

IMO the cosmetics are good in this. The parts don't need to be bought because they already match in a way right? I mean he can grab a load of sleeved red cables but black IMO would suit this fine. As well as fans. The only thing I'd do is grab a set of LED's but remember you're trading an i5 for an i7 here..

That's fine, that in your opinion you'd find these things to be fine in the way you've orchestrated them. The OP put forth more of a well organized build than most people tend to, so "I" would be apprehensive when changing things that have little to do with changing performance values or performance to price. Even if the OP boasts a case that is cheap with few cable management options and looks like a low end IBUYPOWER case, for instance. Your changes really only improved upon one area: peripherals and monitor.

While springing for the monitor with more bells and whistles is fine and all, it's not like any system at that budget(with the extras) is going to take full and beneficial advantage of the 144hz monitor. Love the mouse, not a fan of either keyboard. Particularly the heavily overpriced corsair.

Regardless, the original build is excellent in most ways. Of course I'd make a few changes for performance sake. The R1 Ultimate would be a decent substitution for the H100i GTX, definitey.

Try this memory instead. Clock for clock faster than the one you selected.
