First pc build help (portable - MicroATX size) (budget ~£1000)

I've done some basic research but I am still confused about parts that are compulsory and parts that are extra. I have looked for ideas and builds online for a good portable pc build, but there's a lot of information and I'm getting overwhelmed. I study abroad so I travel on the plane quite a few times a year, so I would like the pc to fit in my luggage but still not take up too much space.

System Usage (Most to least Important): Gaming (90%), surfing the internet(8%), watching movies(2%)
I will need a monitor and a lisence key for windows 10.
I'm new to this so I have no preferred website for parts. I also won't be able to get parts from stores, only online.
I do not want to take a lot of risks so overclocking and SLI/crossfire is a no. (unless you really recommend it)
I want a graphics card that will be able to run games like Warframe/tf2/Skyrim/Occasonal AAA game at 60fps on medium graphics, so a card that will do the job but not super expensive.

Even a mini itx PC, monitor and keyboard with the necessary padding to keep it safe is going to be difficult/expensive to travel around with.

For a pc you may be able to squeeze an i5 8400, 16gb ram, 240gb ssd, gtx 1060 or AMD equivalents. Leaving some $ for a monitor.

Or a laptop with basically the same specs. (Obviously all parts are not going to be as fast as the pc) Maybe an i7 8750 instead. I'm from the US. But know a few of them around 1200 usd. So assuming it's close.

Your case selection is ATX, so transport will be difficult. You must have mail in rebates turned on, as that build is over $1.1k up front. This mini-itx would be much easier to transport.

The 1600 is kinda old but should still be fine. I originally had a build made I wanted to post and it was almost the same as his. I wasnt sure on the monitor. But his choice looks good. The 1600 is fine for a GTX 1060. The cpu is kinda old, as tejayd mentioned, but the GTX 1060 is actually older.
