I have recently lost my laptop and have decided to just go for a pc as I never moved my laptop from the desk anyway. I have created a build on pc part picker as I would like to be able to game on It but wanted one on a budget. I mainly play console but would like a pc to smoothly run games like Total War and Age of Empires. How does this build shape up and if so is there any way j could get it cheaper or if there's anything thay needa changing

Here, I made the video card better. This one has GDDR5 memory. A bit more money, but you'll be much happier off.

Age of Empires is my favorite! Fellow AOE player.

If I'm going to be honest with you, Age of Empires is a very heavy single-threaded game. You will benefit more from an Intel processor. I also changed the power supply.

The Corsair CX PSU is very poor quality, if you are on a tight buget the EVGA W1 430W is a bit better quality.

You will have an amazing experience with this build.

That EVGA 430W is far worse than the Corsair CX. It's the poorest EVGA PSU on the market, I'd recommend the CX any day, but frankly neither are good. And KKAW he needs an OS, so you're budget needs to go down, like, $170 since you went overbudget anyway.

The games he plays do not need a GTX 950. Not sure if you ever played them, but they are quite old mostly and can run on a cheaper graphics card. And as I said anyway, you went over his initial build and took out the OS, so you upped it to basically $590.

So I've updated it with people's ideas etc.
Will this build be able to run the AoE and Total War games with fairly decent graphics and smoothly?

The EVGA W1 is Tier 3
Corsair CX is Tier 4

Care to explain?

Tier lists are just tier lists. The CX has much better ripple suppression. The CX 430 has 0.5% voltage regulation on the 12V rail. The EVGA has 2.8%. The CX has about 40mv of ripple on the 12V rail. The EVGA has around 65mv. The EVGA also fails to meet 80 Plus certifcation while the CX does not. Both of them have crappy capacitors. Also, the EVGA is only rated to deliver its full wattage at 25C, which is really low for a PSU.

Point be told, it's not good to get either, and the Tier List is not perfect.
