Hey, this is my first PC build ever and I think it is decent but I'm not very experienced with this stuff so any advice or comments would be appreciated. I will be using it mainly for gaming (1440p at pretty good settings) and also for stuff like movies and homework (no video rendering or anything like that so I don't need more cores.) All of my knowledge is based of of online research so bare with me. Thanks!

Nothing wrong with your parts.

What monitor will you be using.

What the m2.sata contention means is that if you use the M.2 slot, you lose one of your motherboard sata ports.
So be careful which port you plug your HDD into. The motherbord manual will tell you which one you can't use.

I would ditch the m2 ssd for a bigger sata ssd. There are no real benefits for a gamer to gain from the extra speed. Rather get more ssd storage for the same money and benefit from faster loading times for games installed on it.

Also don't buy windows 10 at that price! Keysellers can offer you Windows 10 pro (activation key) for 10 bucks. You only have to download the iso and save it on a usb stick using the media creation tool.

What that being a m2 pci e ssd it might disable more than 1 sata port on the MB, I know with my MB that I would loose 4 of my sata ports to use that ssd. Like others have said I would ditch the 970 evo and get either the 860 evo 500gb or the Crucial 500mx 500gb either they both offer a 5 year warranty and the Samsung is only a little faster in benchmarks and the speed difference in unnoticeable in real life, but it's up to you if you want to spend the extra $15 for the Samsung. Here are the links for the 2 ssd.

Ok I will probably go with the 860 evo.

Also, that's good to know that I can get windows 10 for cheaper, I was wondering that. Thanks
