I will be using this PC for gaming and daily use, no video editing or anything like that. I would like to keep my core-components budget under $1000, so where can I shave a little cost off?

Please provide any and all feedback on the components I have selected, suggestions for alternative parts, comments on compatibility, etc. Also, is this a proportionate combo of CPU/Graphics card/Motherboard performance, or will one be bottle-necked by the others? I want this PC to be versatile, easily upgradable, and ready for the future so I can use it for a long time.

Finally, what are some good suggestions for PSU, case, and cooling options? I have had problems with over-heating in the past with my Alienware PC and I want to ensure this doesn't happen with my custom build. So please recommend some good options for cooling (preferably air), and a good air flow case.

Here are my specs:

CPU- $199
AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor FD8350FRHKBOX

Graphics Card- $339
ASUS HD7950-DC2-3GD5-V2 Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Memory- $67
G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

HDD- $75
Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive - OEM

SSD- $100
SanDisk Extreme SDSSDX-120G-G25 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Motherboard- $199
ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX/GEN3 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

I don't plan to overclock any of these components immediately, but I will most likely OC in the future to postpone upgrading them. I also plan to get another video card for crossfire in a couple years instead of replacing the current one. As of now, all prices and parts are from Newegg.com, but I am willing to shop elsewhere to save money. Thanks in advance for any and all help. It is greatly appreciated.

Well, everything looks pretty good, anything that people will tell you to change will be based almost purely on opinion from here. The only thing that I would suggest is downgrade the speed of your RAM from 1866 to 1600. The 1866Mhz speeds are negligible on the Z-77 chipset and basically they don't get much faster past 1600. If you can find some nice 1600Mhz RAM for bout $40, you could invest that money into your videocard and/or your storage.

Shave a little cost off...

If you're only going to do 2-way crossfire, you could probably get by with a cheaper motherboard. ASUS has some at $140, so that's a $60 savings. You can also step down to a 6-core processor (FX-6300). The hierarchy charts put both in the same level, so you won't see a big drop and save another $60. After that you start getting into harder cuts like SSD and video card, that'll have bigger impact on your performance.
