Hello! Looking to upgrade my old HP Pavillion intel i3 laptop. It's not quite strong for my uses. Looking for a pretty strong PC too. If you require any details please do ask.

What do you recommend , AMD/Intel? All that stuff thank you.

No need to go X570 for a R5 3600, B550 is more than enough.
Not much difference between 3200mhz and 3600mhz, but if you decide to upgrade your cpu to a 5000 series one, 3600mhz would be what i recommend.
Added a faster SSD, kept the 2TB HDD.
Not much performance difference between 1660 super and 2060, not to mention the 2060 is either out stock or overpriced, am i right?
Added a case with more airflow, and a bit more beautiful imo : )
Kept the psu since its good.

10400F has the same performance in gaming as 3600.
The motherboard i would go for is B560, because of the support of 3200mhz.

The ram is the same as the one you put in your build, intel doesnt benefit from fast ram as much as ryzen does.
Same storage solution,gpu and case.
IDK why the RM 650 is 170 pounds, i just swapped it for the same psu with more wattage, and it turned out cheaper?

Thank you very much Djoza. I have a few 1080p monitors lying around. But I may need to factor in a new monitor in this build, what kind of resolution do you think this build would be good at? 4K even? What kind of power and things can I expect from this build?

With a 1660 super you can achieve 60fps high settings on 1080p across modern AAA titles, but im not sure about 1440p or 4k.
That is more of a 3060Ti or 3070 job.

Imo not sure about 'future games' with high details for 1080p as its already1.5years old so every recent games might be tough,it might do 1440p with low medium details if you plan for 4k then get more cpu and gpu power.

Depends on the rest of your system also, but with a 6 core 12 thread cpu like the 3600/10400F paired with a 1660 super, i think you can achieve 60fps with HIGH settings (not sure about ultra) on 1080p, for example cyberpunk, which is a really demanding title for both cpu/gpu.

For higher resolutions, it will eat up the GPU more than CPU, so a GPU upgrade is needed.
But with the current GPU market, who knows when those will be either available or available at a affordable price.

45-55 fps in the city, take out recording will probably come closer to 60 fps in the city.
Out of the city 60 fps is easily achievable with 3600/10400F+ 1660 super.

EDIT: But tbh who wouldnt be satisfied with 30 fps in cyberpunk : )

Very true im not disagreeing with you what i meant is to 'note' what i had to say itll do todays games but tomorrows not sure again at 1080p high details
Ps:3060ti might be a great 1080p card for the next hopefully 2 years if you can find one that is

Yeah, 3060ti would be my best pick for 1080p and 1440p but getting is very hard
