First PC build

Solution
You won't get more performance out of the AMD build. Even if you were to overclock that FX 6300, it won't keep up with a non-overclocked i5. I would go with the Intel build but switch out the prior generation MB and CPU with its current gen counterparts.

You'd be able to get more performance out of the AMD most likely and especially with no overclocking but I'm not sure why you chose the better GPU on the intel build. You can get a little more creative on the AMD build but there will be more info on things like overclocking if that's important to you on the intel side.

^ FX 6300 @ stock keeping up with...and sometimes beating...an i5 4440. ^

With an OC to 4.4-4.5GHz, easily attainable with a Hyper 212 EVO budget cooler, it will pull ahead.

Not out to start another Intel vs AMD fan war. I just wish people would check the facts vs the hype before posting answers.
