Hello,

I am new to this forum and i am not sure if i am posting in the right location (sorry if im not!) but i'm looking into building my first custom gaming PC and would like some feedback on whether or not this will be a good build or not. Can i get your opinions on it please!

I've done the build on pcpartpicker for added ease.

You can see the build here

Please can you give me some feedback on the build.

Will that be a good place to start? I will use the SSD as a boot-up drive, and i've already got a HDD i can use along with a DVD drive so i have not added those components.

But yeah - can i get peoples thoughts on that build? Will it be able to cope with modern games on near enough maximum settings?

Thanks

When you do it on pcpartpicker, link it not just a screenshot please. I have no idea what kind of a budget you have, but from what I'm seeing I am guessing its around where I'm at. You don't really need to spend the extra cash for the Noctua, it's nice but the 212 evo will be more than enough for overclocking.

Oh i'm sorry, it's my first post on the forum and not sure whats best to do...here is the permalink to the set up, to give an idea of the budget.

Other than the CPU heat sink, is there any other components that are overkill? Will this setup be able to handle like modern, high end games on max settings?

I changed a few parts on here for you. The 620 watt Antec is a semi modular PSU that will support an SLI setup of the 970. I also got a cheaper z97 motherboard that will support SLI if you ever want to do it, and will overclock. I kept the CPU cooler the same, and you still will save 20 pounds. This build will support almost all modern games at max-to ultra settings no problem.

Actually do get the R5 over the R4. Thanks to the guy that recommended that. Other than that you are set sir.

I just realised you have put the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card instead of what i initially had in the setup of a MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card is there any reason for that?

Ok thanks, will do

The R4 still is cheaper and has pretty much the same design.

I've just always seen better overclocking performance and longer life span out of EVGA, and their customer support is fantastic.
