- So my assumption of how the hub works is the top connections are for the RGB element of the fans and the bottom ones are for the fan speed, but I'm still confused about some things:

- What is this part for?

- Would these ends be for chaining together fans if I didn't have a hub? And one is presumably just missing a cap?

- Would these also be for chaining together?

- Can this only be connected to a 4-pin mobo header, meaning the fans can only be controlled with a remote rather than mobo software?

- What is this "VDG" cable for?

- Why does this unused connection have a red tab?

Appreciate any help with these!

If the red tab is the same as that of a fan connector seen on the motherboard, that's the first fan header that needs tethering as it's a PWM fan hub. That red tab is responsible for sending and receiving signals from the motherboard's CPU_FAN header and in turn will manage the hub...so all fans ramp up or die down in unison.

Just a tip when taking pictures, please include images of the headers with the wire as well for greater context. To also add, you should include the make and model of the Kolink case that you're working with. One more pointer, they're not RGB, they're actually ARGB headers. They are not the same.
