First Time Boot Issues with Ram with asus z170a

I just completed my first build with asus z170-a motherboard and i7-6700k and my ram is the corsair vengeance ddr4 16gb (2X8gb) at 3000mhz.

When I power on the computer it boots, fans spin, my gpu lights up, motherboard power light is on. However i have red led light on my board telling me there is an issue with my ram. I can't enter the bios at all and monitor remains at no signal. Ive tried to use asus's memok! button but that didn't work.Ive made sure everything is connected to the board the way it should be. I tried putting in the ram at many combinations of the 4 slots, but that didn't work either. Ive made sure I've had it in correctly each time as well. I am out of ideas and need help.

Your MB supports OCed ram however 3000MHz ram is considered an OC and it depends on the strength of the IMC (Integrated Memory Controller) on your chip if it works or not.

The i7-6700K officially supports Memory Types: DDR4-1866/2133, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V
This CPU scales well however Bios intervention to adjust Primary Timings and Voltage would be required and the XMP profile may not be recognized.

Also you may need to update your Bios if not done so already.

If you can't get them to work with Bios, either by dropping their frequency or Timings then return the modules for a lower frequency kit that are supported.

There is no major gain using higher frequency DIMMs when Gaming.

No such thing as a stupid question Gahannasam

I don't have your MB so I will research what is available for Bios update.
If you have no experience in Tweaking Bios then yes, seek to exchange them for 2133MHz RAM.

Your Bios is normally accessed by continually pressing the DELETE key on and off during Post.
If you can't access Bios then you have CrashFree Bios 3. Insert the MB installation DVD and it should enter the flash utility automatically. Once done you can then use your Bios EZ flash utility.
Best method is to Download the latest Bios file from ASUS support site to an empty USB stick and follow instructions on page 2-63 of your MB manual.

BTW: I notice you have an EZ_XMP switch for OC ram. Try that when Bios has been updated.

Try testing with single RAM module each slot. Make sure that the stick is properly inserted.
