Hey, newcomer here :) I'm building a PC for the very first time for around £400-£500, any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Approximate Purchase Date: Within two weeks

Budget Range: £400-£500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, VFX (After Effects/3DS Max), Web video.

Parts Not Required: Mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Aria.co.uk / scan.co.uk / any good reccomended sites.

Country of Origin: England

Overclocking: Maybe (never attempted, but open to try)

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe (never tried, again, open to try)

Monitor Resolution: Unsure, any advice?

Additional comments: At least 4GB Memory, Windows 7 64 bit, may need wifi card.

Here is what I've come up with so far: https://www.aria.co.uk/WishList/e73zG_KvF8uszowti_T4bQ
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, thank you for any help given. :)

Well converting to USD. That's actually a lot of money. You could try the $550 build in my sig. Just change the i3 2100 to the i5 2400 and get 8GB of ram. That'll totally to about $650 USD or 400 GBP. Dunno it should be similar to that pricing.

With some research, the pricing is not really much the same:S

Any build suggestions on a quality UK site (like the aria.co.uk)?

Also does anyone know how the build in the first post holds up?

500W OCZ ModXStream Pro Modular Silent £47.94

Here's some reviews for the PSU:

Your motherboard says AM3+ so you will be ready to upgrade to Bulldozer. HDD and PSU looks good to me too. Consider the PSU I suggested since it's modular, it will give you better cable management.

4GB Mushkin Silverline £25.99 [Lifetime Warranty]

Don't see any other alternative. The 5770 seems to be completely phased out on your site. Newegg has better deals too. So far I guess you will be fine with this much haha.
