First time build 500-700$ budget gaming PC.

Hi this is my first post here.

Will be used for : gaming, HD video.

CPU: Intel core i5-2500k

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB or Spinpoint F3 1TB

GPU: Sapphire HD 5570 or HD 5670

PSU: Corsair TX 650 W or some other cheaper.

Case: haven't decided yet but it will most likely be from CoolerMaster

RAM: Compatible with the motherboard at 1600 MHz probably Kingstone hyperx

Now this is the hard part - I want motherboard that i reliable overclockable, durable, has onboard graphics and support SLI and CrossfireX - at least 2 graphic cards.

I am more for the gigabyte boards although I know MSI Asus and recently ASrock are used in budget gaming builds as well as high price builds.

I think an i5-2500k is a bit pricey for this kind of build. Youre going to get much better performance in games if you get a cheaper CPU and spend more on graphics. I'd get a Phenom II x4 965 and an AM3+ board then upgrade graphics to GTX 460 1GB or HD 6850 1GB.

I can personally vouch for the GTX 460 because i have the cheap Palit version and even that i have overclocked from 675 Mhz to 900Mhz, bit loud now but doesnt go above ~75c.

brings ur build to around 700 if u wanna spend less just get a cheaper video card

the case is great so dont even think twice about changin it seriously lol. the haf series is overrated imo compared to other choices.

this should run anything u want and u can always upgrade ur cpu fan/heatsink for huge overclocks with this 2500k

Got a Microcenter around? They have the 2500k for $180 and $40 off intel mobos. Ended up picking up a decent build for $470 minus GPU. Though I used the GAz68MA-D2H-B3
