first time build boot issues

I am using:
intel pentium g3220 socket lga 1150 processor
asrock h97m-itx socket lga 1150 motherboard
cooler master elite 460w power supply unit
and 1x4gb ddr3 hp sdram memory modual please help no onboard speaker so I cant get any feedback from it when it posts. the hdd light is on for a few seconds and there is audiable hdd activity but no display. processor fan case fan and power sup fan are all spinning. tried multiple video inputs and completely removed motherboard from case to prevent possible short please help this is my first build and I want to get it to work.

My students use this motherboard.

Are the cables plugged into the correct headers? (Got a similar situation to yours when the Case cables were plugged into the wrong header.)

Are you certain that the two motherboard power cables are plugged in and properly seated in their sockets?

What 'spare parts' do you have access to?
