Hello there!
Ive been browsing these forums for the past few months as im interested in building my first custom rig and noticed that you guys can offer alot of help in this area. Looks like a good community over here and im hoping to get some feedback and advice on my proposed build so here it goes ...
As the title suggests im looking into building a system that would primarily be for gaming but would fit my study requirements too, main programme usage being the likes of;
Solidworks 12/13
Keyshot 3
Adobe suite, photoshop, illustrator etc etc.
im hoping to play current gen games at high to max settings with a respectful fps. BF, COD, Crysis, maybe some LOL or FF:realm reborn thrown in there too.
So thats abit of background into what im looking for it to hopefully handle, not sure if this is expecting too much on my budget but i guess thats why im here im just trying to get that balance in performance between work and play! (unfortunately)
Here is a list of what im currently looking at so some comments or criticisms would be cool and very welcome ..
Intel Core i5 4570 3.20GHz Socket 1150 6MB Cache - £163.52
Seagate 1TB Barracuda 3.5" SATA-III Hard Drive - 7200RPM 64MB Cache - £49.98
Asus H81M-PLUS Socket 1150 DVI HDMI 8-Channel HD Audio uATX Motherboard - £49.78
Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1866MHz Vengeance Pro Kit - Black - £74
Asus GTX 660 DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card - £172.92
Antec All Black 302 Three Hundred Two Case - £49.98
Corsair 600W CX Builder Series 80 Plus Bronze PSU - £67.58
LG 22EA63V 22" IPS LED LCD HDMI Monitor - £109.98
TOTAL: £689.16
What do you guys think to this intial build? would it run okay? im sure in the future i will plan to upgrade but atm im running a relatively tight budget
would this psu be powerful enough? Also ive not heard postive things about an AMD gpu for supporting my 3D modelling software is this true?
Sorry for 101 questions but im quite new to this and hoping you guys can lend a virtual hand
Cheers
Scott
