I recently attempted to build my first pc and I accidentally put windows on my HDD instead of my SSD. Now after putting it on my SSD, my HDD won’t show up no matter where I look for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Was the HDD connected while you installed windows on the ssd?
If it was, that was a mistake.
Redo the installation without any other drives connected.
Then, you should be able to reformat the hdd.

Try control panel/computer management/storage/disk management/
You should see your main partition plus some hidden partitions.
You can reformat the entire HDD if you wish.

The motherboard is an Asus Rog Strix B550-f and the m.2 is a WD Black SN750 500GB. I did remove the SSD at one point to see if it would boot from the HDD again, and it did. So there isn’t a problem with it.

I was just reading on Asus’ page and it does say when the socket is populated, that the data ports will be disabled. I never thought of that before. I’m going to try switching that and see if it works. If it does, thank you for your help!
