Hello! I'm attempting my first build and would like to ask the forum for some suggestions and advice on hardware.

My understanding of forum jargon is a little limited - but I can follow most of what i read in most of the posts on TH.

I might be starting from the wrong place, but I saw the Lian Li PC-C36B case on NewEgg and really would like to build around it. I know there are some limitations to consider when using this case, and only certain hardware configurations work correctly - i.e. Micro ATX, specific pci slot layout. Any help is sincerely appreciated!

Ideally I'm looking to build a music/video server, storage, VM server. No gaming, no overclocking.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: To save money I was considering built-in graphics. I heard that an AMD 780G or AMD 790GX motherboard might work well. Are any Intel boards similar for integrated graphics at a good price? Should I forget the Lian Li b/c of hardware config limitations? Is the bundled 300w PSU lightweight?

Yes the 300W PSU bundled pretty limits you to ultra low powered IGP set ups and i doubt its durability strongly in any case! Why limit yourself to a one trick pony? Well $469 free ship but just swap out for a bigger HDD and you good to go :p

If you get bitten by the gaming bug, you could always plop in something like a HD4770 and game on hehe (say 1280x1024 and above gaming, IGP can happily do 1024 x 768))
