Okay, so here we go. I've always been mainly a console gamer, only ever playing the Sims on PC, however, after a few Steam sales, I find myself sitting at my desk more and more and decided it's finally time to build my own PC. I have a very basic knowledge and have done some poking around and came up with the parts below.
I don't necessarily have a budget, but I'm looking for something in the middle to upper middle class price range - I don't want to overspend, but I don't want to cheap out. I want something that will allow me to grow into and last me some time.
My biggest areas of concern, besides whether all the parts are compatible (I think they are?), are with the heatsink and the power supply. I don't plan to overclock right now, but I never know what I'll do in the future, so I'm debating about a water cooler instead. Regarding the power supply, I think I might be looking at one that is more than I need, but I'm paranoid.
I haven't picked out a case yet. There are so many options! Are there any specific things I should be primarily looking for in a case?
My other question is that if I wanted to throw another $100ish into this build, would I be okay buying another 16GB of RAM or putting it into something else?
Anyway, without further ado, here is what I'm thinking:
