First time build won't power on, power supply buzzes.

The fans won't spin, there's no beep, nothing but the weird PSU noise when I press the power button that stops when I unplug the rig.

The outlet is good, the cord is good. The mobo is in the in the right place, all the standoffs are screwed in, there aren't any that are not screwed in.

The ATX_12V and the giant PSU connector are both plugged into the mobo. The heatsink fan is plugged into CPU_FAN, the back case fan is plugged into SYS_FAN1, and the front fan is plugged into SYS_FAN2.

While installing the CPU, my hand shook and I brushed the pins with my finger for like a quarter of a second. Dunno if that could even be a problem, just making sure I cover my bases.

I would also like to note that my parental figure is hesitant to let me short the power switch with a screwdriver (although I'm pretty sure that isn't the issue) and we both really do not want to take the entire mobo back out of the case and power it that way unless there's nothing left to try.

Your specs would be helpful.
Also take the CPU out have a look at the pins. If any them seem like they are pointing in a different that is why.

The pins can only be affected if moved. If they all look got, they aren't the problem.
You really shouldn't be having any problems with that PSU too. Do you have a way to test? e.g. another computer you can hook the PSU upto to make sure?

I don't... The PSU itself works, I think. It makes noises... I guess? Basically I'm betting the odds that I got a bad PSU are pretty damn low, so I want to try everything else first.

I will see if my dad will let me hook it up to his PC though, in the morning.

You can try powering something directly from the PSU.
Do you have a Molex to fan connector cable, or anything of that nature?

Put a fan into the molex using a fan to molex connector if you have one. This should show if its the PSU

If the fan won't work its the PSU
