So I was planning on purchasing Intel i3-6100 because it was cheap and saw little difference when benchmarked compared to the higher tiered CPU's. If I was to build a PC having the i3-6100 as the CPU, what do you guys recommend on what to get as the mobo and the rest of the build?

PS: Is the Intel i3-6100 still overclockable as of today?

REMINDER: I'm on a USD $550 max budgeting right now.

1) No overclocking, but at base 3.7
2) $550 will get you reasonable parts:

*EDIT*
Karsten75 posted while I was writing the post, but made some poor choices in my opinion. The PSU is not as good as you should aim for at that price range, and 1x8GB is not recommended since you lose dual channel memory. Most likely he picked that because of the H110's limit of two DIMM, but the B150 is only a bit more (~$5 more) and supports up to 4 DIMM

Hello BrenDsantos. Just a reminder: the i3 series are not a part of Pentium series, they are two completely different things. The CPU is called Intel Core i3-6100.
I don't know what is going to be the use of this computer but even if it's either for gaming or working, I believe that the i5 is a must nowadays, not taking credit from the i3. It is simply stronger and better for future use.
I've put up this build for you on a really useful website you can use in the futue:

It goes a little over your budget I know, but not that much and it's a great improvement in my opinion.

My bad on that one. I was thinking about the Pentium g3258 as I was writing and got them mixed up. Thank you anyways!
