Im about to do my first build and thought it only made sense to post it here in case im messing up somewhere. Will be using a 1080p 16:9 60hz monitor https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014299 and its my understanding i dont need insane components with such a monitor. current price is around 850$ but im willing to go 1200$ or so if there is a notable performance gain. Am currently using an Alienware mx14 to give some context lol nearly anything is upgrade XD. No intentions of messing with overclocking or streaming and i dont play many demanding games only things im looking to run well in the near future are sekiro the new dying light and possibly the division 2. If you recommend any resources for a first time builder i would also greatly appreciate that info. Side note id like to avoid team blue. This is what i have so far https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nmCnvn Feel free to tear it apart i dont have my ego anywhere near this. Thanks ahead of time.

No big deal. That build is a good base. The 2600x is good. You can get a cheaper 580 with same quality and performance. You also can get a better psu for less money. Seasonic makes good psus. I also used some of the money saved on the psu for a faster wifi adapter, for better ping and download speed. This build will easily be able to get good performance at 1080p. You could get some nicer looking and potentially higher quality ram for like $5 more, although the included ram should work.
