I'm a first time builder looking to build a desktop pc primarily for gaming. My build so far consists of a processor and motherboard, both of which I am open to changing if needed.

Processor

Motherboard

With these as my base I've started looking at RAM but am confused about how to check compatibility with the motherboard. That's where this community comes in. I'm looking to have 16gb of RAM installed and I need to know how to check compatibility and if the board I have chosen now will support this.
Thank you in advance.

If you are building this primarily for gaming that APU is going to let you down. APUs can be ok for some games but any newer AAA game is not going to be an enjoyable experience. 16Gb of ram is not currently needed for games, 8Gb is the sweet spot and you'd be better served using that money in other parts of the build. Whats your budget for the build and we can offer suggestions and builds to try and get you the best bang for the buck.

My budgets around 700 and while I wont necessarily be playing the newest games but I want the option to play both online and semi-new games at a moderately high setting, what do you suggest?

Its that $700 just for the tower or does it include other thing like an OS, monitor mouse, keyboard, etc.

Solution

That $700 is for just the tower.

When I go to the part checker you've provided it says that the video cards length may block some drive bays. Is this something I need to worry about? Some of the reviews of the video card say its loud and has been known to bottleneck the system and while that may be because of the CPU they have installed I'd like to know if you have ever tested this card with the I5 or know someone who has? A question about the RAM. When I bring it up on newegg I see that it says "Compatible with Intel LGA1155/LGA1156" where the motherboard you recommend says it has a LGA1150 slot. Is this a problem?
