Hey! So I am building a gaming PC for the first time and after I finished setting everything up and wiring everything, it won't turn on. I know that power is getting to my motherboard because the light on my graphics card and on the power button of the actual case turns on when I plug it on. However, my CPU fan doesn't run and no other lights display when I try to turn it on. HELP! I'm not sure if it is my processor or if I maybe wired something wrong.

If you need a BIOS update, you will need a Skylake CPU, Core i3/i5/i7 6xxx series or one of the Pentiums or Celerons from that generation in order to get the system to boot. Only a small selection of fairly high end...

Honestly, I do not know anything about computers but I believe I plugged it in. That is part of the pins right? I mean, there is power to the power button because the light on it shows up. Below are the specs of my build:

MoBo: Msi B150M
PSU: EVGA 500W Bronze Power Supply
CPU: intel i5
GPU: GTX 1060
Ram: 8GB 2400

What i5 you put in, 6th gen or 7th gen?

Hi. So i believe it is of the 7's series. I ended up getting everything to power on. Now my problem is that there is no display on the screen. The fans and everything work now. Could it possibly need update? I read somewhere that it may need to be updated. How do I go about finding out if I need an update for it to boot?

If you need a BIOS update, you will need a Skylake CPU, Core i3/i5/i7 6xxx series or one of the Pentiums or Celerons from that generation in order to get the system to boot. Only a small selection of fairly high end motherboards can do a BIOS update without a CPU. If you don't have a Skylake chip lying around or a friend who can lend you one, your best bet might be to go to a computer shop and see if they can update the BIOS for you. Your other option is to return the B150 motherboard and get a board with a 200 series chipset like B250 or Z270 which will support your CPU out of the box without an update.
