For the first time I'm building my new PC myself and I'm worried if my brass kitchen table is a bad place to assemble it because of any potential ESD it could cause. I've read forums and guides on how to prevent ESD but nothing that tells me what kind of surfaces should and should not be built on. I'm assuming the brass is conductive since its copper and zinc, could that be a threat? The brass table top sits on top of a wooden stand.

Solution
Brass conducts electricity so dont use the brass kitchen table,

You can prevent it by,

1. wearing an edc wristband (you connect it to something metal so you dont conduct electricity)
2. work on a wooden surface
3. when installing the parts make sure you are touching your pc case as it should be made of metal
4. Dont Wear wool and dont touch carpet
