Hey All

I'm really new to this, but I want to break in to PC gaming. Right now I am considering a DYI build and want to know if this parts list sounds legit/ works together.

mobo: Asus Sabertooth z87
GPU: nvidia Geforce gtx 770
CPU: Intel i7- 3770K
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast 850w TX850
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz

I havent decided on HDD and SSD yet. any suggestions?

you could probably get a less expensive(but still really good) z77 based mobo for either the 3570k or the 2600k. If you keep the mobo, you are looking at a haswell cpu(4000 series, ideally an unlocked k series model to put your mobo's overclocking alacrity to good use). I will say that with an older i5(the 2600k in particular) you would have a much easier time cooling the cpu to overclock it with a decent air cooler like a cooler master hyper 212( unlike haswell, which requires a high end air or a closed loop water cooler to keep from overheating at overclocked speeds, if not a custom water cooling setup).
