So I have a GTX 970 and an AMD FX 9370, and I'm switching from that processor to an i5 4690k, I was wondering if there were any parts in this build I could downgrade, purely gaming PC not looking for any SLI. My budget it $400 for the motherboard, psu, cpu, and aftermarket cpu cooler. I can go a little above $400 but not above $500.

You do not need a liquid cooler, a decent air cooler will do just fine. Any decent after-market cooler should perform better than the stock cooler. The EVO 212 cooler is probably just fine if you want to get that, but I would personally go with a different one. I would look at the...

I already have those, I'm just replacing my mobo, processor, and psu.
Actually, what ram would you recommend? I have 800MHz and I'm looking to get 2400MHz or 1600 at least.

Okay. Everything looks good that you have listed. Not sure I would downgrade anything. If anything, I may upgrade the cooler, but ONLY if you plan to overclcock. You have the K version of that CPU, so I'm assuming you will overclock it, right? You could go with the non K version to save a little cash, if you want?

Yeah I'm going to overclock, I'm unsure which water cooler to get because the Cooler Master Hyper is a bit too bulky for me.

I would look at the Cryorig coolers, they are nice looking, and according to most reviews, perform great. Have a look at them.

Go search for some reviews on those 3 coolers I have listed and decide for yourself.

Best of luck with your build and have fun building it!
