I am looking for a good CPU to pair with an Asus ROG Maximus VIII hero any suggestions? I'd also like a 1080 but not sure which one to pick.

Solution

If you are running i7 along with 1080, i would suggest to go with 650w. Though at stock, 550w might be enough but it will be wise to keep a little headroom, specially if you are OCing.
You can choose something decent from here... http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html
Ideally i would go with corsair rmx or evga supernova or seasonic s12ii.

Well Its Based On Ur Budget :

The Best : https://pcpartpicker.com/product/tdmxFT/intel-cpu-bx80662i76700k 330 $

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/gx648d/intel-cpu-bx80662i56600k 230 $

Because U Choosed Z Series Mobo It Means U wanna Overclock The Cpu So They Are The Only Choices .

If iTs Not Affordable U Should Choose Another Cheaper H Series Or B Series Mobo With A Non K Series Cpu .

Also About Graphic Card . We Got Some Options . Its Only Based On Ur Budget Again :

Different Ideas

The V550 is a good PSU, however I would personally not buy one due to the dishonest labeling found on many of their PSUs (and on their case fans as well).

I Prefer Use This :

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nB3RsY/seasonic-power-supply-s12ii620bronze 50$

Also Future Proof For Next Uprades Maybe ( On Some Components ) And Will Not Fail U On Heavy Ocing

Regards ;)
