Hey all. I'm putting together my very first pc, never put one together, never upgraded one, haven't even owned a desktop in over a decade.

full list of parts:

(here is the full list of parts I will be ordering. All of them are from newegg, because I'm getting reimbursed for the parts and want them all from the same source).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139010 - case - corsair 500r

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125413 - Graphics card - Radeon HD 7970

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139029 - Power supply - Corsair 850W

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233388 - RAM - Corsair 2x 8gb

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293 - Motherboard - ASRock intel LGA 1155

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504 - CPU - Intel LGA 1155, quad core 3.4ghz

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099 - CPU fan - Cooler Master

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136252 - LG DVD-ROM (blu-ray combo thingie)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227792 - Solid State Drive - OCZ Vertex 4 256gb

A couple questions for ya'll,

1. Will all of these parts work together? My nightmare is getting all of this stuff and finding out some of the parts are incompatible somehow.

2. I came out 300 dollars under budget. Where is my 'bottleneck,' which part should I upgrade to get the most bang for my buck

3. Will I be ok with this solid state drive without an additional hard drive? Should I get a bigger ssd?

4. I was planning on not overclocking (will probably be at least 3 years before I can make any upgrades). should I get a water cooling system anyways?

5. Lastly, if anyone could let me know what tools and other supplies I should get for putting this together, I would greatly appreciate it. This is my first time putting together a pc, and I'm a bit nervous.

This pc will be used primarily for gaming, and drawing with a tablet.

Also, if anyone can recommend a better case that will work with all this stuff I'm all ears.

And (I think) my motherboard has 4 memory slots, and the corsair ram thingie has 2 8gb memory things. Should I get another order of the 2 memory sticks?

For some reason the site doesn't come up. But if you have pcpartpicker, it should have a compatibility checker. I think an SSD drive should be fine for now. But this is assuming you don't go ham on Steam sales and start buy 40 gigs worth of games. I'm still leary of water cooling, but I coudl be wrong.

Your biggest concentration should be on the CPU AND GPU. That at least gives you some breathing room and the other parts are easily upgradable later.

Also, I think once you get those parts, you should be fine for 3 years. In 3 years you might need an entirely new system anywho because of the new gaming consoles coming out this year (and for some reason games tend to jump in quality/spec req when they come out).
