First time building a gaming rig and would like help

Hi everyone,

I am currently in the process of picking my components for a custom gaming rig. I have never done this before and the only experience I have is watching a few how-to videos. I plan on using this machine mostly for gaming with other everyday things, the games I mainly want to play are Skyrim and Guild Wars 2. Here are the components I have chosen based on the research I have done. My budget is pretty much set at around 1000-1200 dollars and I am currently at approximately $1010, the OS, keyboard, and mouse need to fit within my budget. Here are my components, what I would like to know is first of all are they all compatible ( I think they are, but having never done this before I could be wrong ), any suggestions you could give me are welcome, and what you all think of it overall.

Motherboard - ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155

CPU - i5-3570k or i5-2500k ( I have no intention of OC anytime soon )

Video Card - Gigabyte Radeon HD 7870

HDD - Western Digital 1tb Caviar Black

SSD - Crucial M4 64gb (for OS only, I intend on using Windows 7 )

Memory - Corsair Vengeance 8gb ( 2 x 4gb )

Optical drive - ASUS 24x DVD Burner

PSU - Rosewill HIVE-650 ( not sure about this one, would like to keep its price under $100 )

Case - Cooler Master HAF 912

Again, any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated ( and needed )

More than enough, and the xfx PSU has a better rep then the rosewill but not as good as the seasonic.

if you are spending more on the psu then get a modular psu from antec or seasonic like larrym said..550w is enough for a single gpu build..
