First time building PC, looking for opinions on build.

I am planning on building a PC for the first time, seeing as my PC can barely run half of my games on the lowest settings, i was looking for opinions on a build that can handle the latest games e.g. battlefield, assassin's creed, all those new games and also handle a little video editing as well.
My price range is anywhere between $1500 and under, i am willing to go a little over, but i doubt i would need to. Also i am most likely not building this PC until late 2014, so i may change it around. thanks guys

Come back inlate 2014 .

The hardware available will be different by then so recommending parts now is not a good idea .

But read the forum regularly , and see what others are doing
