Hello everybody,

I'm new to to the to this forum, i'm also new to building PCs. I'm trying to build a gaming PC even though i don't have a clue how to set it up. I have found videos tho which will probably help, however if any of you guys know a guide/video please share! I need it for playing WoW, maybe some other games but i doubt it, surf the web, and sometimes school work. This is what i made by surfing through the web and picking suggestions:

I learned somewhat the purpose of each component and why they are there. However, the MoBo is the only on that i dont quite understand. I know it has to be there and components that connect to it but i don't know how to distinguish which one is better when comparing, for example. So in my case, I ended up picking the Asus Z97-A which was based on reviews that I saw. If anyone has another suggestion on the motherboard please do tell! Aside from that i feel like this is a pretty good computer, and it looks like it will run what i need. But like I said im no professional, so if you guys could help me out on anything that would be great!

You chose some good parts. I made some few tweaks to get you a better build for the same price. Don't worry to much about the motherboard. The Asus z97-A is a great choice.

Hi,

Thanks for helping out man, appreciated! The case i already bought which is the NZXT Phantom 410. I saw that you added another hard drive, but I personally know I wont be needing that much storage at first. So later down the road I will probably pick that one up. Do you think that would be a good idea? Also, for the PSU why the upgrade? I dont have a problem with it, but do you think it is really mandatory? Also, why the change with the GTX 970 graphics card? It seems like you traded it with a somewhat worse version? Thanks for the change on that cooler!

You don't have to add another drive but 250GB doesn't seem like to much. However, you can always add the 1TB drive later. For the GPU I remember the SSC version being the version with a better cooling solution hence why I chose that. The PSU did need an upgrade. It wasn't the wattage but the quality of the PSU. The Corsair cx series aren't very good quality and the EVGA one was the cheapest good quality one I could find.
