I bought my rig for £2k , a few years back, and have been putting off cleaning my components as ive been too afraid i will ruin something. However enough dust has accumulated now where I feel i need to do it.

I bought an air compressor from compucleaner on amazon as I hear this is the safest way to clean the pc from dust. How exactly is this supposed to be done? Can i just let loose and spray all my components on my pc, or are there certain ones you absolutely should not clean with this?

Solution
air compressor? what did you buy again?

not for use on a PC. canned compressed air/canned air/canned duster is the preferred method. low enough pressure not to damage the boards, filtered so no oils or water vapor is released in the air stream.

with canned air. insert the nozzle and give each dusty area a quick blast. tap the trigger. hold any and ALL fan blades still when dusting coolers or fans with coolers. the pressure can force RPMs exceeding safe and could damage the spindle of fans so hold the blades while dusting. a pencil works just keep it from spinning.
I suggest you do this outside unless you have...

I suggest you do this outside unless you have something to capture the dust. keep nozzle of canned air at least 3 inches away from boards.
if you tilt the can and liquid comes out, its fine. well not fine but it will not hurt anything. let it evaporate, its the propellant. getting this on skin can cause freeze burns. keep the can upright, bend the nozzle.
that's about it

Sorry this is what i bought: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01G1Z0RF0?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image

Regarding the fans, does this include gpu fans? I have a 1080ti, do i need to hold those fans in place to before spraying?

ya no i wouldnt use that on a 2k computer yes its powerful but youll most likely damage the fans if you blow that full blast at it best with a dust air can using short bursts

do not hold the fans before spraying just be gentle with the bursts

what case are you using ?

That blower will work fine. Although with the level of dust you've accumulated, I'd definitely advise doing it outside.

You may or may not use the included brushes, I happen to prefer a long handle ½" flat tip artists brush. It's great for knocking loose any gunk that's stuck in the heatsink fins, or fans, or just generally stirring up the dust, and then blow it out.

Just moderate the distance on the blower, you'll figure out how hard that air is coming out and increase/decrease distance as needed. I would suggest you also carefully remove the shroud from the gpu, use the bushes on that heatsink and the back of the fans and then blow them clean too. Carefully with the fans.
