[First time] Need help with a custom gaming laptop build

I have a $2000 budget if that helps.

I am not the best with computer hardware. If anyone could tell me if/where I have too much underkill/overkill that would be very helpful.


Also anything I could improve on it.


I don't know what the "mSATA Option" means. And all of the things under it are free, but I haven't picked any.

Switch to GTX 860M

Switch to windows 8.1

Go to 8GB Corsair Vengeance instead of 16GB of RAM.

Only get a one HDD (a MSATA SSD will be above $2000 budget)

But does windows 8.1 help me at all? Or is it user preference. I'm quite fond of windows 7. I've never used windows 8 before.
